Called To Be Free (Day 7)

Called To Be Free
Jesus Calls Us to Be Free — Freedom isn’t just about walking out of a place—it’s about leaving behind the patterns that once held you captive. Jesus calls you to live truly free.
Isaiah 48:20 (NLT)
Yet even now, be free from your captivity! Leave Babylon and the Babylonians. Sing out this
message! Shout it to the ends of the earth! The Lord has redeemed his servants, the people of Israel.

Devotional Thought
When someone is released from prison, they don't just walk out of the building. They have to leave behind the prison mindset, the prison habits, the prison way of thinking. Otherwise, they're still captive even though they're physically free. Freedom is not just about leaving a place. It's about leaving a pattern.
Isaiah gives this powerful call: "Yet even now, be free from your captivity! Leave Babylon and the Babylonians." Notice he doesn't just say leave Babylon. He says leave Babylon AND the Babylonians. Don't just leave the place. Leave the pattern!
Perhaps we have been fighting a constant battle of trying to live up to the standard of integrity because though God's people left Babylon centuries ago, the spirit and patterns of Babylon never completely left us. The spirit of Babylon looks like pride, compromise, loopholes, control, deception, manipulation. Ultimately, the spirit of Babylon is anything that seeks to replace God's reign and rule in your life.
But God is calling us even today, even right now, to be free from the spirit of Babylon. Leave the patterns of Babylon behind you once and for all, and make a commitment today to be free. For too long we have battled with that old Babylon spirit, but the Lord says to you today, come out of that place, come out of that pattern, and be free from that spirit in Jesus' name, for I have called you to be free!
Isaiah 52 continues with urgency: "Wake up, wake up, O Zion! Clothe yourself with strength. Put on your beautiful clothes, O holy city of Jerusalem, for unclean and godless people will enter your gates no longer." In other words, a lack of integrity will no longer be the narrative for you! "Rise from the dust, O Jerusalem. Sit in a place of honor. Remove the chains of slavery from your neck. Get out! Get out and leave your captivity, where everything you touch is unclean. Get out of there and purify yourselves." There's a sense of urgency here. Get out now and be free!
Jesus died on the cross, was buried in a tomb, and three days later rose again so that you and I might be free. John 8:32 says, "You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." And verse 36 adds, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!"
The call of the Kingdom is to walk in wholeness, in integrity. It's a call to be free. God is calling you today to walk out of captivity, be free from the chains around your neck, and put your trust in Him. True integrity is complete freedom. And that freedom is yours right now in Christ.
For some of you, this is a call to surrender your heart to Jesus and make Him the Lord of your life today. For others, it's a call to deliverance - You know Christ, you have a relationship with Jesus, but you are not walking in wholeness. You are not walking in the freedom that He's calling you to walk in. Today is the day!

Application Questions
- What patterns of Babylon (pride, compromise, loopholes, control, deception) are you still carrying?
- What chains need to be removed from your neck today?
- What would your life look like if you walked in complete freedom and integrity?
Today's Challenge
Make a declaration today: "I am free in Christ." Write it down, say it out loud, and take one concrete step toward walking in that freedom. This could mean confessing something you've been hiding, keeping a promise you've been avoiding, breaking a pattern that's been holding you captive, or surrendering your life to Jesus for the first time.
Today's Prayer
Jesus, thank You for dying to set me free. I receive that freedom today. I choose to leave behind the patterns of Babylon, the spirit of compromise, the chains of captivity. I will no longer be bound by loopholes, excuses, or a lack of integrity. You have called me to be free, and I choose to walk in that freedom right now. Help me to live with complete integrity, to be whole, and to reflect Your image in every area of my life. Remove the chains from my neck. I trust You completely. I am free in Christ. In Your powerful name, Amen.
I'm praying...
I’m praying that today you’ll have the courage to leave every old pattern behind and step into the freedom Jesus already purchased for you. I’m believing that the Holy Spirit will break every chain that’s kept you bound to the past and fill you with strength to walk in wholeness, integrity, and victory. You are not called to survive in captivity—you are called to live free.
