Confrontation Is Confirmation (Day 1)

Confrontation Is Confirmation
“The enemy wouldn’t oppose you if the work you’re doing didn’t matter.”
Nehemiah 4:1–2 (ESV)
“Now when Sanballat heard that we were building the wall, he was angry and greatly enraged, and he jeered at the Jews. And he said in the presence of his brothers and of the army of Samaria, ‘What are these feeble Jews doing?’”
Devotional Thought
When Nehemiah led God’s people to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem, the work was immediately met with opposition. Sanballat mocked them, questioned their strength, and tried to sow doubt. But notice—his fury was proof the work was advancing.
The enemy doesn’t waste energy on what doesn’t threaten him. If you’re experiencing confrontation—whether it’s discouragement, resistance, or attack—it may actually be confirmation that you’re on the right wall.
Nehemiah didn’t stop when mocked. He prayed, rallied the people, and kept building. The wall was worth it. The calling was worth it. And the confrontation became fuel for perseverance.
In your life, the same is true. If the enemy is pressing, it’s because the work you’re doing matters. Don’t quit when confronted—stand firm, and let it confirm the value of what God has asked you to build.

Application Questions
- Where are you experiencing confrontation right now in your walk with Christ?
- How could this resistance be a confirmation of the importance of your calling?
- What step of perseverance can you take today to keep building despite opposition?
Today's Challenge
Identify one confrontation you’ve been facing and reframe it: instead of seeing it as defeat, declare it as confirmation of God’s calling.
Today's Prayer
Father, when I face confrontation, help me see it not as failure but as confirmation. Strengthen my hands for the work You’ve called me to. Give me courage to keep building the wall You’ve set before me. Amen.
