HEART TRANSFORMATION

1. A Heart for the Lost

Prepare My Heart:
Lord, search my heart and reveal any indifference I have toward those who do not know You. Replace my comfort with compassion and my routine with urgency. Let me feel what You feel when You look at those far from You.
How to Pray:
  • Ask God to give you the same love He had when He sent His Son... a John 3:16 kind of love that sees the one and pursues them.
  • Pray that our church would become a people who leave the 99 for the sake of the one who is wandering.
  • Seek the Father's heart to see people not as interruptions but as lost children who have yet to find their father.
Scriptures:
  • John 3:16 — "For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life."
  • Luke 15:4 — "What man among you, who has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open field and go after the lost one until he finds it?"
  • Luke 19:10 — "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
  • Romans 9:1-3 — "I speak the truth in Christ—I am not lying; my conscience testifies to me through the Holy Spirit—that I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. For I could wish that I myself were cursed and cut off from Christ for the benefit of my brothers and sisters, my own flesh and blood."
  • Matthew 9:36 — "When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd."

2. A Heart of Multiplication

Prepare My Heart:
Father, forgive me for holding back what You've entrusted to me. Give me a heart that freely offers everything... my time, my gifts, my influence... trusting that You are a God who multiplies what is surrendered. Make me someone who invests in others the way You have invested in me.
How to Pray:
  • Pray this year's vision, "Multiply the One" becomes more than a theme... that it becomes a heart posture we carry into every relationship and opportunity.
  • Ask God to shift our thinking from addition to multiplication... not just gathering people but developing people who develop others.
  • Seek the Father's help to bring everything we have to Him with the expectation that He will multiply it for His Kingdom.
Scriptures:
  • Matthew 25:20-21 — "The one who had received five talents approached, presented five more talents, and said, 'Master, you gave me five talents. See, I've earned five more talents.' His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You were faithful over a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Share your master's joy.'"
  • Genesis 1:28 — "God blessed them, and God said to them, 'Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it.'"
  • Matthew 28:18-20 — And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
  • 2 Timothy 2:2 — "What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."
  • John 12:24 — "Truly I tell you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains by itself. But if it dies, it produces much fruit."

HARVEST AND EVANGELISM

3. A Great Harvest of Souls

Prepare My Heart:
Lord, expand my vision beyond my own household and my own comfort. Let me see the harvest as You see it. Burden my heart for those in my circle who do not know You and give me the courage to speak, to invite, and to pray with expectation.
How to Pray:
  • Ask the Lord of the harvest to bring a great ingathering of lost souls into His Kingdom through our church.
  • Pray that God would prepare hearts in our community... that the ground would be soft and the seed would take root.
  • Seek the Lord to use Harrison Faith Church as a doorway through which many enter into life with Christ.
Scriptures:
  • Matthew 9:37-38 — "Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.'"
  • John 4:35 — "Don't you say, 'There are still four more months, and then comes the harvest'? Listen to what I'm telling you: Open your eyes and look at the fields, because they are ready for harvest."
  • Psalm 126:5-6 — "Those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy. Though one goes along weeping, carrying the bag of seed, he will surely come back with shouts of joy, carrying his sheaves."
  • Acts 2:47 — "...praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. Every day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved."

4. A Spirit of Evangelism

Prepare My Heart:
Father, I confess that I have often been more comfortable with silence than with speaking of You. Stir in me an urgency that compels me to share the hope I have. Make evangelism not an obligation but an overflow of what You are doing in me.
How to Pray:
  • Pray that a spirit of evangelism would rise alongside our heart for discipleship... that we would become a church marked by both.
  • Ask God to remove fear, hesitation, and self-consciousness when it comes to sharing our faith.
  • Seek the boldness of the early church that proclaimed Christ openly and without apology.
Scriptures:
  • Acts 1:8 — "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
  • Romans 1:16 — "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek."
  • 1 Peter 3:15 — "But in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, ready at any time to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you."
  • 2 Corinthians 5:20 — "Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us. We plead on Christ's behalf, 'Be reconciled to God.'"

DISCIPLESHIP AND EQUIPPING

5. Strengthened Discipleship

Prepare My Heart:
Lord, show me where I have plateaued in my own walk with You. Awaken in me a hunger for growth that moves beyond comfort into maturity. Help me to both receive instruction and to pass it on to others... living as a disciple who makes disciples.
How to Pray:
  • Ask God to deepen the discipleship culture that already exists in our church... to strengthen what He has built.
  • Pray that every member would grow in spiritual maturity and become someone who helps others grow.
  • Seek the Lord's help to make discipleship a way of life in our homes, not just a program at church.
Scriptures:
  • Colossians 1:28-29 — "We proclaim him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. I labor for this, striving with his strength that works powerfully in me."
  • Philippians 1:9–11 — And I pray this: that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment, 10 so that you may approve the things that are superior and may be pure and blameless in the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.
  • Matthew 28:19-20 — "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you."
  • 2 Timothy 2:2 — What you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

6. The Body Equipped for Ministry

Prepare My Heart:
Father, help me to see that I am not a spectator but a participant in Your work. Remove any pride that keeps me from learning and any fear that keeps me from stepping out. Train my hands for the work You've prepared for me.
How to Pray:
  • Pray that our people would receive the equipping offered to them with open and teachable hearts.
  • Ask God to help us build pathways for every believer to discover their gifts and step into meaningful ministry.
  • Seek the Lord's design for the body where every member functions and builds up the whole.
Scriptures:
  • Ephesians 4:11-12 — "And he himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ."
  • 1 Corinthians 12:18 — "But as it is, God has arranged each one of the parts in the body just as he wanted."
  • Romans 12:4-6 — "Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another. According to the grace given to us, we have different gifts."
  • 1 Peter 4:10 — "Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God."

SERVICE AND STEWARDSHIP

7. Hearts Willing to Serve

Prepare My Heart:
Lord, reveal any selfishness in me that keeps me from serving others. Replace my desire to be served with a desire to serve. Show me where You want me to give of myself so that the load is shared and the body is strengthened.
How to Pray:
  • Pray for a widespread desire to serve to spread across our congregation so that no one would sit on the sidelines.
  • Ask God to stir the hearts of those who have not yet found their place to step forward and serve.
  • Seek a culture where serving is not seen as a burden but as a privilege and an act of worship.
Scriptures:
  • Mark 10:45 — "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
  • Galatians 5:13 — "For you were called to be free, brothers and sisters; only don't use this freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love."
  • Philippians 2:3-4 — "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves. Everyone should look not to his own interests, but rather to the interests of others."
  • 1 Corinthians 15:58 — "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord's work, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."

8. Wisdom for Growth and Capacity

Prepare My Heart:
Father, prepare me to support growth even when it requires sacrifice and change. Give me a heart that welcomes new people and new rhythms without clinging to the way things have always been. Help me see growth as the fruit of Your blessing and not as inconvenience.
How to Pray:
  • Ask God for wisdom concerning the addition of services to accommodate the increase of people coming to our church.
  • Pray that our volunteers would be prepared in number and in heart to meet the demands of growth.
  • Seek the Lord's timing and direction for decisions that will shape our church's future.
Scriptures:
  • James 1:5 — "Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God—who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly—and it will be given to him."
  • Luke 14:28 — "For which of you, wanting to build a tower, doesn't first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it?"
  • Isaiah 54:2 — "Enlarge the site of your tent, and let your tent curtains be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your ropes, and drive your pegs deep."
  • Nehemiah 4:6 — "So we rebuilt the wall until the entire wall was joined together up to half its height, for the people had the will to keep working."

UNITY

9. Unity Within the Church

Prepare My Heart:
Lord, search me for any root of bitterness, offense, or division that I may be carrying. Make me a peacemaker, not a peace-faker. Help me to pursue unity not just in word but in action... forgiving quickly, speaking kindly, and assuming the best of my brothers and sisters.
How to Pray:
  • Pray for a spirit of unity to be maintained as a non-negotiable in our church family.
  • Ask God to guard us from division, offense, and the enemy's schemes to fracture what He is building.
  • Seek the Lord's help to walk in humility, patience, and love with one another.
Scriptures:
  • Ephesians 4:3 — "Making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."
  • Psalm 133:1 — "How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!"
  • Philippians 2:2 — "Make my joy complete by thinking the same way, having the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose."
  • John 13:35 — "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
  • 1 Corinthians 1:10 — "Now I urge you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree in what you say, that there be no divisions among you, and that you be united with the same understanding and the same conviction."

10. Kingdom Unity Across Churches

Prepare My Heart:
Father, forgive me for any small thinking that has limited my view of Your Kingdom to my own church. Expand my heart to celebrate what You are doing through others. Help me to partner, support, and pray for the churches in my city... recognizing that we are one Body with one mission.
How to Pray:
  • Pray for a heart and understanding for THE Kingdom of God to be in the hearts of every person at Harrison Faith.
  • Ask God to open doors for partnership and unity with other churches in our city... not for our sake but for His name's sake.
  • Seek the Lord to make us a church that models Kingdom-mindedness so that others are drawn to participate.
Scriptures:
  • John 17:21 — "May they all be one, as you, Father, are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us, so that the world may believe you sent me."
  • 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 — "I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth."
  • Philippians 1:27 — "Just one thing: As citizens of heaven, live your life worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or am absent, I will hear about you that you are standing firm in one spirit, in one accord, contending together for the faith of the gospel."
  • Psalm 86:9 — "All the nations you have made will come and bow down before you, Lord, and will honor your name."
